California Dreaming (133/365)

May 13, 2015 – Two years ago we did a motorcycle trip and made it almost to the northern border of California before turning back north towards home. I’d like to go farther at some point. It won’t be this summer…but maybe next year.

It’s fun to pull out maps and atlases and think about planning a road trip. Maps provide such a fabulous thought escape.

Come to Davis! Or at least Napa or Sonoma. We’d meet you there. Or the Sonoma Coast.

Well we’re here. We have an endangered species of sturgeon on campus to see. But mainly it’s been too long.

And it’s the second reason that would get me there, the first would just be a bonus 😀

Do it! I rode to Davis and SF as my undergrad present to myself, though I don’t suggest riding all the way to Davis in one stretch like I did.

Then I will hit you up for suggested routes when we get around to the real planning stages Hans.

Good to know! Anything with “volcano” in it is usually interesting 🙂

Lots of interesting places. But it has been 16 years since I was last there and 23 since the epic ride.

if you are riding the coast it is COLD all the way down. Get set up with heated vests and grips would be best. Course as soon as you are 25 plus KM from the coast you are in the oven ….

Discovered that the year before last when we followed the coast of Washington and Oregon down. It was a constant case of layer on…layer off…layer on…layer off…..
