May 7, 2015 – The first of the three massive …. it’s hard to call them bushes when they are as tall as the house…. is in bloom.

This one sort of has to fight for it’s space, it’s squished in between the two larger ones and usually looks rather sad. But it’s done it’s best to put on a show the two springs we’ve lived here and I’ve tried to help it out as best I can since we moved in.

The second one, a pale purple colour, will probably be in full swing by the end of the weekend, and the third one will put it’s scarlet show forth a few weeks from now. I like the way they stagger in their bloom times.

I’ve never really looked at the inside of a Rhododendron flower this closely, it very much reminds me of an orchid with the spotting. So pretty.
