April 21, 2015 – I miss the old telephones. The ones with the rotary dial, that gave you a sense of satisfaction when you were mad and slammed the receiver down.
I also liked the days that the phone was tethered to the wall and when you went out, you were in peace because no one could get ahold of you, and you didn’t feel compelled to be available.
Truth be told I still don’t feel the need to be available and I actually gave my work cell phone back because I wanted to be away from the office when I was away from the office. I’ve been offered a Blackberry for work, and I’ve happily declined it.

my Grandma still has the original house phone hooked up in the home she’s live in for 65 years. rings loud enough to wake the dead. although, she has a cordless phone now for the convenience of keeping it nearby
I remember the party line at my grandparents. As a kid it was fun to listen in on other conversations, though I often got caught.
party lines..yup I remember those…annoying as hell when a call needed to be made and the neighbour lady refused to cut her gossipy call short

If there are no more rotary dial phones, how will we ever escape the The Matrix???
