January 16, 2015 – Focus is crappy and not where I wanted, but when you are working with a 26 year old parrot that has the temper of a two year old…..you don’t get second chances and you take what you get.
Sit and stay are even less effective on a parrot than they are on a cat!
Try and pose one, and you’re almost guaranteed to end up bleeding.
So…this is what I got…and it will have to do for today, because there are no Do-Over’s with Gizmo.
If you’ve never lived with a parrot, you won’t get it.
And if you’ve never lived with a cat, you “really” won’t get it.
Happy Friday!
Pass the wine 🙂

Sigh, I’ve lived with both. No more birds.
22 years and counting with this little personality. He was four when I brought him home as a rescue.
Some days I want to separate his head from his body…..
I have a nose divot from a little vulture.
Kirk has an ear divot….but not from this one…though he has acquired many other scars from Gizmo….
Kirk and he have a very …tenuous relationship.

Happy Friday!! 🙂 Treats work pretty well for my cats but I’ve never lived with a parrot. I image photo sessions with them would be quite a challenge. 🙂 Gizmo is gorgeous!

Or perhaps, you are Gizmo’s person?

Yes, I am Gizmo’s person 😉
Yes, they are very challenging creatures … and treats in exchange for cooperation doesn’t generally work where he is concerned.
But for all his faults, he’s an interesting creature to co-exist with 😀
