January 7, 2015 – Remember learning fractions?
Do kids learn them anymore in school?
And when was the last time you saw a fraction on a typewriter key?
Have you ever seen one?
I don’t know the entire story on this typewriter. I discovered it in my Dad’s basement in Vanderhoof ten years or more ago. I just loved it, but it was buried in the back of a shelf in a box. I couldn’t fathom what was so heavy and when I pulled it out Dad just looked and said something along the lines of “Oh, that old thing?” when I asked if I could have it.
He couldn’t figure out what I’d want it for, didn’t understand that I just wanted to set it on a table or desk somewhere and enjoy looking at it.
It’s kind of cool to appreciate what today’s computer keyboard evolved from.

If you have this in a b&w version I would be happy to include it in my magazine for the "metal" theme. Please send me a Flickr Mail if you’re interested.
