July 13, 2014 – I know it’s a beer thing, but what a great slogan 🙂
This morning I looked at the weather forecast and was freaking out a bit. We were to go to a baseball game at Nat Bailey Stadium – Vancouver Canadians vs Everett – and the weather was to be a scorcher.
I don’t do heat or sun particularly well. I’ve had sunstroke, a couple of times, and I burn easily. I’m no sun worshiper, I’m happy to have my white skin and freckles intact and avoid shades of lobster at all costs. When I get hot and can’t get away from heat, I truly start to have a bit of a panic attack.
So this morning, I wasn’t totally looking forward to the game.
I found my biggest brimmed hat, put the sunscreen in my back pocket, and hoped for the best.
When we got to the stadium our ticket seats were in the shaded part of the stadium (Whew!) but we were attending Kirk’s work event, and they had a section down in the BBQ area. On the upside, the food and beer were included, but it was “down there in the sunny area”!
Luckily there were umbrellas and a breeze so we could hide from the sun. And although we were there for the entire game, we really only saw the last few moments because the entire time was spent socializing, predominantly with two friends – Jeff & Pam.
So all in all, a fun afternoon.
It’s good to be here, and you can take that in any way you choose to, because they’re probably all correct!
“Here” is fabulous 🙂
