February 1, 2014 – OK, so technically Chinese New Year was a couple of days ago, and I did take the shots on the 31st. I just didn’t have time to process anything until today. And I had wanted to get down to Chinatown to take some photos of the parade I assumed was Saturday, but things were too hectic and I didn’t get a chance.
Then, today, our contractor friend came over to double check on some bookshelves we are having made for the office, before heading to Ikea to buy some drawer units, and on the way we heard that the parade had just finished!
Dang! It was today!
It’s really tragic, in all the years we have lived here I think we have only managed to see the Chinese New Year parade twice.
The past week has been beyond crazy. Between what can only be called a tragedy at one of my facilities, and the related politics that are surrounding it and something going on at another facility, I don’t know where the week went. Or the weekend for that matter.
Just seems like there are so many fewer hours in the day than what I need.
Ah well, and so it goes….
Kung hei fat choy!
