June 18, 2013 – When I was a child I simply couldn’t be kept away from the water. I can remember summers in the Shuswap, I always wanted to spend all my free time down at Canoe Beach. One of my earliest memories is lying on my stomach and splashing my feet while using my hands to support me in water about 8 inches deep while calling to my parents “Looks, I’m swimming!”.
Some things never change. I still love water, the ocean in particular, and I doubt I’d ever be happy if I didn’t live in close proximity to it. The smell of the sea is the smell of home now.
This isn’t me, but it could be. My hair was that colour, and that length, when I was that size, and I could always be found puttering about in the shallows if the opportunity presented itself.
(The photo is mine, but the idea for this layout is plagiarized from something very similar that I saw in a magazine, and which appealed to me)
