December 20, 2012 – I don’t wear pearls, but I have three strings. My mother gave me hers years ago. I inherited my Granny’s a number of years ago. And I now have another string, though I’m not 100% sure if they are my Grandma’s or my Great-Grandma’s.
My Mom hid things in strange places, though I knew where most of them were through conversation. This little box wasn’t on my radar though, and one of the days I was in the house I opened it and found these pearls. The box was sitting on the bottom shelf of an antique umbrella stand, at floor level. It wasn’t obvious, and that was another trait Mom had that I have learned from her – putting normal objects in unusual places. It makes for interesting placement and conversation.
So now I have three strings of pearls, and none of them ever get worn. Perhaps tat might change someday.
