November 20, 2012 – I spent the day spawning sockeye salmon out at Cultus Lake today, so it only seems logical to take a photo of a goose…right?
The day was a mixed bag of weather, but the rain held off until we had finished spawning, so that was a plus. On the way back to Richmond to pick up Kirk from work, I stopped in at the Richmond Farmers Market for some produce and watched a gaggle of geese in action. Several kept a lookout while one picked a hole in a bag of potatoes and they all enjoyed the fruits of the perpetrator’s labour. When I wandered off to visit some ducks, I bent down to take a photo and heard a commotion behind me. The geese were in high gear heading for me, obviously assuming there must be some food involved that they were missing out on. They were sadly disappointed when they reached me. But they did pose for a few moments before they gave up on me.

I find this comical. At least something can enjoy all of the rain.
