June 21, 2012 – Whipping up a batch of pumpkin bread. What’s the unusual start? Just the fact that I am making it because I discovered a can of pumpkin puree in the freezer?
About a month ago I was digging for something and saw a can. I figured that it must be a can of frozen juice and was a bit surprised when I pulled out a can of pumpkin puree. I have no idea how it made its way there, or when. I can only guess that maybe back in the fall, or near Christmas (the two times of year I buy pumpkin) I bought a can, and some frozen juice, and they all went in the freezer together.
I didn’t know how it would fare, and didn’t want to put it back in the cupboard, so out it came and I decided to make some pumpkin bread with it. Turns out that was a good plan since the consistency of it had changed significantly, but that shouldn’t matter in the bread.
So, a strange find, but the accident will result in a tasty outcome.
