May 30, 2012 – Yuck! I have to get on the motorcycle and ride home when this ferry docks…..well….at least I am dressed right and will stay dry.
Funnily, when I parked the bike on the ferry and was getting some of the gear off, putting the block under the frame, and shaking off the water I’d accumulated in the parking lot, a small stream of men came to talk to me. Almost all of them in their late 50’s to early 60’s, with various comments ranging from “Nice bike” to “good rain tires, nice to see”, to “You’re crazy riding that in this!!” All of them were being very fatherly to a woman riding solo in horrendous conditions, and it was like they were all just checking up on me to make sure I was OK. It was kind of cute.
But it was still a yucky ride.
