May 8, 2012 – Wow! So many greetings! Even Wall-E said Happy Birthday! Thanks!
Yes, today was my birthday. It sort of crept up on me, particularly with Kirk’s accident last week and family here this past weekend. It was sort of strange – and I know I won’t get any sympathy for this – but I can’t actually remember when I last worked on my birthday. Between self employment and grad school, I just never had to work on my birthday. It’s not like it was a hardship today or anything, it was just…different.
It was a lovely day today, warm and mostly sunny. And Kirk took me to dinner at my favourite restaurant – Salmon House on the Hill – a fabulous seafood restaurant in West Vancouver. Can’t ever go wrong there. Fun evening, fabulous food, but tired.
And a fabulously exciting gift to add to the day. Two tickets for the Broadway musical Rock of Ages – Sunday afternoon. Much fun to come. I’m totally excited about the show. Music from our era, costumes to make me laugh and think “Did we really dress like that?!?”
And to all those 35+ people who took a moment out of their day to say hello on Facebook. many thanks. Facebook is an interesting place, but those little reach-out-and-touch-you moments from friends new and old, are meaningful. Tank you!
