180/365 (June 29, 2011) – Choices. Sometimes they are simple, sometimes they aren’t. Choosing a whisk isn’t life changing, I suppose it could be if you were a chef teetering on the brink of fame and the wrong whisk ruined your dish and it was the night you were about to be discovered…but I can’t imagine that has happened because of a whisk very often. But sometimes you read something, see an email, and it makes you wonder if you had taken the other path…where would you be now? Did you make the right choice in not following it farther than you did? Are you happier because of that choice, of if you’d stuck it out a little longer, would things have changed or become a bit more like the dream you had for it? Or would it have continued to make you unhappy if you had stayed on. Who knows? I just hope the current choices work out for the best and try not to regret the choices I’ve made since regret isn’t a useful emotion.
Some people collect dolls, Christmas ornaments, figurines…. I collect things like whisks, cameras, and cookbooks.
Why be normal?
