140/365 (May 20) – I’m tired. I put about 300 km on the motorcycle today. It was awesome! I just couldn’t pass up this sunshine, not when the clouds are supposed to roll in tonight. North Van, out the Barnet, to Pitt Meadows, out the Old Dewndey Trunk Road, up to Stave Lake, popped out at Hatzic, then over to Sumas and along Huntington and back into Surrey, then out to Langley where Kirk met me for dinner after he got off work. Then back to the North Shore.
I took my camera along, today’s Daily Shoot was a fence or a wall. I passed lots of fences, but just didn’t want to stop anywhere along the way, I was having too much fun.
Strangely, out on Dewdney near 263rd somewhere, like really in the middle of nowhere, a silver car pulled onto the road as I went past and I’d swear the driver yelled my name. But I know absolutely no one out that way. I was the odd person out. Many, many cruisers, a few sport tour bikes, not too many sport bikes…and sadly not a female rider in sight until I got back towards the city. I love the solitude of riding alone, I can concentrate on the ride and just “feel”. But I think I am a bit of an oddity in that respect.
And I feel alright. I am sore, tired, my butt hurts, my hips are cramped, my knees are sore, my inner thighs are tired….
It was one of the best days of solo riding I’ve had yet. But no photos at all, so a fence… and after all that, all I had left in me was to stumble outside to the garden and take this photo.
That’s it, that’s all.
I’m very tired.
I’m done.
Update: Turns out I did know the driver that yelled out a window at me. Got a message on Facebook asking if I’d been yelled at by a silver Honda out at Dewdeny Trunk and 265th. I wasn’t going nuts. I couldn’t figure out how anyone would know me out there, and as Kirk pointed out, it had to be someone on Facebook as my profile photo is of me in full gear. Wasn’t going insane. Whew!
