129/365 (May 9, 2011) – As much as I whine about the rain, if it wasn’t for that moisture we wouldn’t live next to this magnificent forest that contains such fabulous plant and animal life. The forests here are quieter than the ones that I grew up around. There are still birds and squirrels and insects making their presence known, but the nature of the rainforest provides a bit of a sound dampener that can provide a wonderful sense of isolation and peace, even when you are close to the city and all the hustle and bustle and associated noise that comes with it.
So as much as I complain about the rain, I do deeply appreciate what it provides.
