128/365 (May 8, 2011) – Butterflies are so amazing. Or maybe this is a moth, I don’t actually know, seems more like a moth with the big fuzzy body.
Regardless, to metamorphose into something so beautiful is just one of those amazing things that nature treats us to if we take the time and effort to stop, look, and consider.
Today was my birthday, and my sister-in-law and niece were in town staying with us. They were booked in for a thing called “Animal Encounters” at the Vancouver Aquarium, basically they spent a couple of hours with the trainers of the dolphins and got to be involved in the show itself, handling and feeding the dolphins. We spent the entire day at the aquarium, something I’ve never done before, spend the entire day there, that is. We were there at 9am when it opened, and left at 5pm when it closed. It was rather fabulous to visit it and see it through the eyes of a child….makes you slow down and enjoy things you might normally breeze past.
