Finally!

Finally! Yesterday brought sunshine, not-too-terribly-cool weather, dry pavement, and photos of me on my bike, in my new leathers. A friend jokingly nagged for photos of me in leathers, said he didn’t believe I had a motorcycle at all since he’d never seen me on it in a photo. Sadly, he’s left this world, I never got to prove it to him directly. So wherever you are Danny, I hope you are continuing your tradition of irritating women. And here you go, I really do own a sportbike, and I really do ride it in leathers. As my former supervisor said to me, “Dress to crash my dear, but you gotta look good” This is the first time I’ve seen myself geared up and on my bike. I’m pretty happy with these leathers.

The day was spectacular and we made the most of it with a ride to Squamish for a coffee (I needed my skinny vanilla latte). From there we headed up to Whistler with a couple of stops along the way. We stuffed our bikes into the small little free motorcycle parking space we found years ago and wandered into the Village for a late lunch. Citta’s has a fabulous butter chicken pizza. Sounded interesting, tasted fabulous. Whistler has to be one of the only places I know of that you can see people in full ski/snowboard gear, others in motorcycle gear, still more in shorts and t-shirts, riding mountain bikes, skateboards, etc, all in the same square at the same time. I could just sit there for hours and people-watch.

Eventually we headed back with a few stops at viewpoints, another coffee in Squamish, and then a stop in Porteau Cove for some photos before heading for home. We are going to have to find a balance this summer when the weather turns warmer. The boat is starting to call us too.
