224/365 (August 12, 2010) – Mom and I took a trip out to Steveston and on the way home stopped in at Iona Beach. There is a little pond with a small boardwalk and as we stood on the edge looking down at the various wetland plants and debated whether or not one particular bunch of large leaves was an iris plant I noticed a little green bump on one leaf. The plant was a good 20-30 feet away from us and down an embankment so I flipped off my flip-flops and made my way down to see if it was what I thought it was. And it was, a tiny little green frog barely bigger than my thumbnail. I’ve never come across one of these little guys before. But then I don’t hang out at ponds that often either.
I disturbed him a bit trying to get the leaf to stop moving in the breeze so i missed the shot with his head down, he raised it to keep an eye on me and that big lens coming his way.
Took a few shots and left him in peace.
