Day 73 – Curry Fixin’s

73/365 (March 14, 2010) – I love curries. Both Indian and Thai. Japanese too, but not quite as much. Funny thing is, I don’t really recall ever really having curries growing up. Scratch that. I never did. My family wasn’t exactly “adventurous” with food. Garlic was considered “Spicy!”

But I know exactly when curry really entered into my diet.

The year 2000.

I spent a month out at the Bamfield Marine station as a graduate student. Two of my roommates loved to cook. Both regularly made curries. One leaned towards Indian, the other towards Thai. Both were fantastic and both hooked my tastebuds.

And then Marne went and mentioned Pork Vindaloo in a message the other day…. guess what’s on the menu tonight….
