I love the written word, but I wonder how much longer it will exist. I’d like to think forever, but the next generation is the text generation and not only can many of them not form a formal communication, their actual ability to pick up a pen and write is shockingly bad. Kindle is trying to kill paper novels, text messaging is the shortened delivery of the written word.
There was an interesting article in the Globe this morning, the next generation should take note and think about the time after school gets out. They may use social networking for their communication, but the older generation of employers is still looking for a bit more formality in business……
