Looking across Burrard Inlet towards downtown Vancouver on a cloudy afternoon can provide some spectacular sights if the light is right.
Downtown Vancouver will be home to a lot of extra people in the next two months, and it means I may just forgo visiting down there during that time. I think most Vancouverites have had the living daylights scared out of them with predictions of traffic chaos and total gridlock. We are just not set up to deal with too many cars on the roads in the first place, and then to shut many of them down completely during the Olympics should provide a lot of fodder for the evening news…. no, I think I’ll stick to this side of the water, it’ll be bad enough…

Well, the typical joke here is that since the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) starts the first weekend in August, it always rains then, so you’ll miss that, and the first weekend of September is the holiday, so it will rain then…but the rest of September is generally spectacular. Warm days, cooling nights. Usually…..
