Well, only a day and a half from now we will take off for parts unknown, unknown to us anyway. Charlotte has moved in with the critters, the bills are all prepaid, work has been mostly tied up, volunteer duties are more or less taken care of, taxes are (finally) done and paid. I still need to give Kirk a haircut tonight and I need to get a couple of cards out today.
The cats are confused. We had ordered a new sofa bed but it hasn’t come in time so Kirk and I slept on the blow up mattress in the living room and let Charlotte have our bed last night. I hate guests having an uncomfortable bed so we figured we might as well take it seeing as we might as well get used to a different bed…a month in a vee berth is ahead of us. We thought the cats would sleep in their own beds in the bedroom, instead they curled up with us on the air mattress and when I woke up Milo pretty much had all of my pillow to himself. Loki is usually harassing us for breakfast by 6am, but here it is at 7:30 and he’s still comfortably curled up at the foot of the mattress.
Gonna miss the wee beasties, I hope they behave for their critter-sitter.
Currently it is about 19 degrees in Corfu, with scattered clouds and chances of showers. The rest of the week looks a bit unsettled with chances of a thunderstorm on Sunday. It’s still early in the season, and the weather improves as May progresses. We will also be traveling South so I imagine that the days will get progressively warmer ad drier.
Tick, tock, tick, tock……
