What are you waiting for?

by The Philosophical Fish

The imagery is all sports related, but the words are of relevance to life in general.

What are your goals and dreams?

Do you even know? Have you made the time to identify what you want to do and when you’d like to do it by?

What are you doing about those goals?

Are you actively striving for them?

Or are you sitting around waiting for the right time.

Perhaps you are waiting for someone else to make the first move and get the ball rolling….you may wait a long time if the other person doesn’t engage their own drive.

If you are waiting for someone else, you would be better off to get up and go do the thing you want to do on your own, because that other person, in his/her complacency, has possibly forgotten how to disengage from drudgery and find their own inner drive. Their lack of drive and attention to personal goals and dreams will douse yours too.

It’s easy to make excuses “Can’t, maybe tomorrow, don’t have time, been too busy, have to do this first, later, after this, after we get through that….”

Keep your eyes forward and remember that work isn’t life, it’s a means to an end and there is a world out there waiting for you to explore it and all that you can be in it.

I see too many people putting living off and exchanging real life for something else.

Our lives are fleeting moments in time, and the here and now is all that we can say that we have with any real assurance.

That tomorrow you are waiting for may never come.

If you don’t act…..life and those living it will leave you behind.

Make the most of life now, not later.

I'd love to hear from you :)
