March 2, 2017 – Meet Milo and Loki, if you haven’t already.
Milo usually wants to get “in” the fireplace and so whenever we light it there is a battle of wills between cat and human until the fireplace finally reaches a temperature that suits him such that he will settle down on his sheepskin and suck up the warmth. Until that point in time he is a crazed animal, sweeping his tail over the flames, frequently scorching his hair, trying to crawl in behind, completely oblivious to the danger.
Looks comfortable….not. Sometimes we actually go check on him to make sure he’s still alive.
And then there is little Loki. He’s wearing a lampshade these days because he won’t leave a sore on his foot alone and it won’t heal with his rasp of a tongue going at it constantly. Tomorrow he’s going to have an even worse day because he’s getting packed into his crate and taken to the vet where his entire belly will be shaved for an ultrasound. He will also have a chest x-ray and probably some tissue aspirates; a year and a half and we still don’t know what’s wrong, and he’s starting to see a decline in his red cell counts again.
Until then, he’s annoyed, particularly since Milo isn’t being tortured.
