Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

Our neighbourhood becomes parking chaos at this time of year; we live two blocks away from the Capilano Suspension Bridge and they put on one heck of an amazing light display in the forest and on the bridge across the river. People come from all across the Lower Mainland to see it. And even though it can cause headaches for the neighbourhood, it’s nice to walk down there and enjoy it and listen to the happiness and wonder it brings to people. It reminds me that I should be more tolerant, because I live in a pretty special place and that the inconvenience is short-lived…

An amazing display of lights. There’s nothing like it here in central Pennsylvania though I have heard Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania does a nice job. You’re right about being grateful for things in the face of little inconveniences. Hard to muster sometimes though. It’s the sort of thing I think about when riding my Vespa scooter.

    Merry Christmas.

I’ve had trouble finding the Christmas Spirit this year as well. This season is always one of emotional conflict for me, more so in recent years. I am grateful for so much, and yet it’s always a reflective time and I can’t help thinking about losses suffered in recent years; both parents, a father-in-law, a brother-in-law, several good friends, and a much loved cat with an invisible disease that almost three years of diagnostics has yet to identify or fully resolve. But things change and we must adapt and find the bright spots within the new parameters.

I wish you and yours the best and hope that the neurosurgeon brings you hope.

      Merry Christmas.
