Day 347 – The Forgotten Ones

I was out at the Cultus Lake Lab again today, spawning sockeye. The drive to the lab is mostly on the freeway, but the last few miles take me towards Chilliwack and past fields through Yarrow. Fields that have been put to rest for the winter. Cut corn stalks, bright red blueberry bush branches, swans feeding on fallen grains. Halloween is past, and the pumpkins that didn’t make it to market slowly decay back into the soil.
