Day 329 - Duck Pond at Iono Beach

When Mother Nature throws a stellar day at you at the end of November, and when that stellar weather coincides with your day off…. what else is there to do but go for a motorcycle ride? I waited until it warmed up a bit, layered up with thermal stuff, donned the gear, and had a fabulous ride around town, out past Jericho and Spanish Banks, around UBC, and out to Iono Beach. It always amazes me that this wonderful little spot can be so peaceful, yet be right on the edge of the airport. I hung out for awhile, turning in circles and enjoying the different views. To the West, the ocean. To the North, the snow capped mountains. Right in front of me and to the East, a peaceful duck pond. And to the South, YVR and all those people coming and going, to and from all corners of the world. I was going to head home after this, but when I hit the road again, the bike didn’t want to go home. Who was I to argue? So we kept going. And then, to cap off a wonderful day? A fabulous dinner at the Salmon House on the Hill, with that most wonderful guy who shares my life. Gads I love this place. There is a reason it ranks consistently in the top five, or so, most livable cities in the world. The Obligatory Sunny November Bike Ride ShotReflectionsLanding Gear Down

Day 329 - Duck Pond at Iono BeachI see Canada is looking as "summery" as we are here in England 🙂 Seems to be confusing the garden plants though – I’ve spring blossoms alongside autumn leaves!

Day 329 - Duck Pond at Iono BeachHello Donna!!!! Sadly the respite was short lived and merely a brief bright spot between two very nasty weather systems. By late afternoon the sky was like a lead sheet and we are now under a monumental rainfall warning. Any spring flowers that might poke their noses out here are sure to drown.
