October 31, 2016 – Our three little monsters, high up on the wall. My Dad used to carve three pumpkins every Halloween, and somewhere along the line, I started to do the same. Never anything terribly elaborate, just some fun faces to make us smile.
For 19 years in our condo we never got trick-or-treaters, well, that’s not entirely true, we had one, one year, but that was it. So near enough to zero to call it none.
Three years ago we moved here, three years ago today actually, and as we shuttled boxes in and around our new home we got a knock on the door and our first trick-or-treater but, given that it was moving day, we had no candy. So we flicked off the front light and discouraged any others from trying.
Then, last year we bought candy….and only got one knock on the door.
The problem is that we are near the end of a long dark street, and the Village has an event for kids, candy galore, so why would they wander down this far.
The downside is that that one knock means that I have to buy candy, just in case, and then we end up with a box of it left over….which we eat…of course!
Oh well, it’s a small price to pay 🙂
Besides, we can just call it our celebratory treat, three years living here!

What? And you didn’t add them to that frightening pile of candy that landed on the filing cabinet this morning….and had all but disappeared by the end of the day?
Tactical error – I opened the box on Friday for “just one”. Lucky there was any left for the kids.
